What is the Turkish International Student Admission Examination?
The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) has announced the “Turkish Foreign Student Admission Examination” (TR-YÖS) to determine the standards for student admission from abroad and to identify the right candidates. The exam, which will be held in six languages (Turkish, German, Arabic, French, English, Russian, German, French, French, English and Russian), will bring a new convenience to candidates from different countries in applying to higher education institutions in Turkey. Foreign students who meet the specified criteria will be able to participate in the Turkish Foreign Student Admission Examination. At the same time, it has been recommended that the results of this exam will be the criteria to be evaluated for undergraduate and graduate programs in higher education institutions. The 2023 TR-YÖS, which students who want to study in higher education institutions in Turkey will enter and can use their results when applying for admission to these institutions, will be held for the first time on 29 January 2023 by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). The exam will be held in 17 provinces in Turkey and 23 countries abroad, in 41 exam centers in total. Applications for this exam can be made from ÖSYM application centers. In the exam, candidates will be asked a total of 80 questions, 40 from the Quantitative Aptitude Test and 40 from the Basic Mathematics Test. The exam will be conducted in Turkish, German, English, French, Russian and Arabic. The validity period of TR-YÖS will be two years from the implementation of the exam. In addition, if universities accept this exam as a measurement and evaluation competency, students will not need to take the YÖS related to the fields they apply to again.
