If you decide to work for a company or language school in Turkey, your future employer must apply for work permit before you start working. I came to turkey on a student visa which expired on 1 June 2020.
After arrival, I attended my collge and had my registration, but because of coronus, I stayed away and waiting to start after the college re-opens.

You should have applied for residence permit before expiration of your visa. As your visa is already expired, you need to leave Turkey and reenter the country with new student visa in order to apply for student residence permit. Due to closed boarders, you will not pay a fine for overstaying your visa under condition that you leave Turkey within 30 days after flights to your country starts.

Residence permit application can be only submitted on basis of property’s Title Deed, land is not suitable for this purpose. After you buy or build a property you can apply for short term residence permit for property onwers, otherwise you can apply for touristic residence permit on basis of rental contract. After staying in Turkey for 8 years uninterruptedly you can be eligible for long term residence permit

In order to open an account in Turkey, foreigner must be either present in person or can entitle third person to open an account on their behalf with Power of Attorney for this purpose. Power of Attorney should be issued in notary office in Turkey or Turkish cinsulate abroad.

However, in order to do business activity, foreigners are supposed to obtain work permit. Work permit can be only obtained if criteria of Ministry of Loabor as below would be met:
– paid capital of the company must be 100.000 TL or more
– there must be at least 5 Turkish citizen employed in the company per each foreign work permit holder

You are allowed to stay in Turkey until expiration of your residence permit in September. If you would like to extend your stay, you should transfer your student permit into short term residence permit. Transfer application can be submitted before expiration of your current permit.

I am living in turkey for 7 years since 2013, and i stayed all this time using a touristic residence permit
how can I extend my residence permit for another year? I would like to establish a company (not only for residence permit extension but for doing E-commerce business selling goods online in turkey and also international export)
But It won’t be feasible for me to get work permit considering i have to employ 5 Turkish citizen

If you are not a citizen of one of the countries, which are eligible for touristic residence permit extension, you can extend your residence permit for another 6 months after company establishment. However, after 6 months passes you are supposed to obtain work permit and for this purpose your company’s paid capital must be at least 100.000 TL and you need to employ 5 Turkish citizens. This rules also apply to company’s doing e-commerce and international export.

My mother came to visit on an entry visa for which she can stay in Turkey three months – She is a British citizen. She was going to leave but the coronavirus caused the lockdowns everywhere including flights. Her visa will be expiring before airports are due to open. In this case what can she do? I had 2 questions from you
I am living in turkey for 7 years since 2013, and i stayed all this time using a touristic residence permit
how can I extend my residence permit for another year? I would like to establish a company (not only for residence permit extension but for doing E-commerce business selling goods online in turkey and also international export)
But It won’t be feasible for me to get work permit considering i have to employ 5 Turkish citizen
So my questions are :
1-Do i actually need a work permit if i just want to do e-commerce ? (I heard it doesn’t need but not sure as i get contracting information)
2-If so will that be enough (”A Sahis sirket ”) for me to extend my stay in turkey using (”is kuracaklar icin ” in residence application menu)

If you are not a citizen of one of the countries, which are eligible for touristic residence permit extension, you can extend your residence permit for another 6 months after company establishment. However, after 6 months passes you are supposed to obtain work permit and for this purpose your company’s paid capital must be at least 100.000 TL and you need to employ 5 Turkish citizens. This rules also apply to company’s doing e-commerce and international export.

Hi there,
My mother came to visit on an entry visa for which she can stay in Turkey three months – She is a British citizen. She was going to leave but the coronavirus caused the lockdowns everywhere including flights. Her visa will be expiring before airports are due to open. In this case what can she do? Will she have to apply for a resident permit or is there an exception in this case? She will leave as soon as flights open again.

Hi there, it says having a family member who is a citizen in Turkey is a valid reason for renewing a tourist visa. Does this include your brother in law? My brother in law is a Turkish citizen but my sister is not.

Foreigners can not apply for work permit in their own name or without having a job in Turkey. Application for foreigner who has residence permit valid in total for at least 6 months can be done within Turkey. For foreigners who are not residence permit holders, application must be done via Turkish Consulate in their home country.

Foreigners can establish a company in Turkey with mimimum capital of 10.000 TL, however in order to obtain work permit as a company owner, paid capital must be at least 100.000 TL and there must be 5 Turkish employees per each foreigner in the company. Foreigners can set up a company in Turkey with minimum capital of 10.000 TL, however work permit can be only obtained if company’s paid capital is at least 100.000 TL and there is 5 Turkish citizens employed per each foreigner. The same criteria apply to foreign company owners or shareholders. Foreigners can not work in Turkey basing only on residence permit, work permit must be obtained for this purpose.

Cost of one year residence permit fees for citizens of Nigeria is 80 USD + 100 TL card fee. Residence permit can be renewed for as long as you will be studying in Turkey. After graduation foreigners have a right to obtain one year residence permit.

I am in Turkey on a course visa that is about to expire. Can i apply to get a short term residence permit?

After entering Turkey, foreigners can apply for residence permit before expiration of their visa. In order to make an application, foreigners must have address in Turkey and health insurance obtained within the country, which is covering the whole requested period of stay. As a tourist visa holder, you can apply for touristic residence permit, which can be granted for up to one year.
